On November 26, 2026, The Avalanches arrive in Paris, at Essaim / Main Room, for a DJ set that promises above all a lesson in sonic collage. Born in Melbourne, the project grew from an obsessive love of sampling, mixing, and the seamless transitions that tell a story without words. Behind the name are Robbie Chater and Tony Di Blasi, heirs to an approach that has become cult since Since I Left You, a pivotal album that put the montage of pop at the heart of the dancefloor. Since then, their universe has continued to expand across electronic, hip-hop, disco and psychedelic pop, with Wildflower and then We Will Always Love You, lighter but still guided by that rambling patchwork of musical memory. In a DJ set, The Avalanches play with the art of the detour: weaving together very different fragments, crafting unexpected crescendos, and keeping the club in motion rather than merely lining up tracks. An invitation for those who love their party to feel like a story.
