Info
On March 21, 2027, Jacob Banks brings his singular take on contemporary soul to The Academy in Dublin. Raised between Nigeria and the UK and shaped by the Birmingham scene, he’s built a sound that slides between soul, R&B, pop and gospel without ever feeling boxed in. What holds it all together is that deep, steady voice, set against arrangements that can turn cinematic in a second: guitars up front, flashes of horns, and electronic textures that thicken the mood.
On stage, Banks tends to move between intimate, slow-burn ballads and more driven songs that flirt with modern blues. It’s also a chance to hear how his writing has evolved from early EPs like The Monologue and The Paradox to the broader palette of Village, and the leaner, guitar-focused approach of Lies About The War. Expect a set that plays with contrast: raw emotion, tight grooves, and choruses built to land in a room.
