Info
On February 23, 2027, at Vicar Street in Dublin, Imelda May brings her Raised on Songs & Stories: The Lock In show back to where it all started. Born in the Liberties, she’s never been the kind of singer who sits still in one lane: early on she carved out her own space mixing rockabilly punch, swing rhythms and R&B drive, with that retro edge that shaped albums like Love Tattoo and Mayhem.
Over time, May has opened the doors wider, moving from rootsy rock and soul into something more stripped-back and song-focused, closer to folk and soft rock, as heard on Life Love Flesh Blood and later records. On stage, that journey becomes the point: a voice that can snap with attitude, then turn intimate in a second, backed by sharp musicianship and a taste for storytelling. Expect a set that links eras, styles and moods without losing the thread: the songs, and the stories behind them.
