Info
On 23 October 2026 at The Lower Third in London, Citizen bring their emo roots and their later alternative-rock drift to the stage, with that mix of tension and melody that’s become their signature. Formed between Toledo and southeast Michigan, the band built its name in the emo/post-hardcore wave before widening the frame: denser guitars, hazy textures, and a songwriting approach that’s grown more measured without losing bite. Expect a set that can jump from the raw, upfront energy of their early years to the more spacious, grunge-tinged and shoegaze-adjacent moods of their recent records, carried by Mat Kerekes’ voice at the center.
Modern Color and Thistle round out the bill, keeping the night anchored in the punk/emo/indie-rock crossroads Citizen have always navigated, where riffs hit hard but the choruses still land with real weight.
