Info
On February 25, 2027, Will Young brings his pop-soul universe to York Barbican for a show built around his smooth voice and his knack for turning adult pop into something both intimate and sharply produced. First known for winning the debut UK season of Pop Idol, he quickly moved beyond the TV label with songs that lean on melodic writing, subtle emotion, and occasional electro-tinged grooves.
Expect a set that can move between hushed moments and more danceable arrangements, echoing the shifts in his catalogue: early-2000s pop craft, then the more synthetic edge he embraced on Echoes, and later projects that highlight him as an interpreter as much as a songwriter. Whether he’s leaning into light soul, crisp electronic textures, or stripped-back delivery, the focus stays on phrasing, mood, and that calm intensity he’s made his signature on stage.
