Info
On Saturday 13 February 2027, Giant Rooks bring their sleek, melodic indie to New Century in Manchester for a live set built around their pop-minded songwriting and full-band drive. Formed in Hamm, Germany, the band writes in English and plays with contrasts: punchy rhythms and guitar-led hooks, then more atmospheric, introspective stretches where the arrangements open up. Fronted by Frederik Rabe’s distinctive voice and carried by Finn Schwieters’ guitars, their sound sits somewhere between indie rock urgency and modern pop polish, with subtle electronic and art-pop colors.
After early EPs that put them on the German alternative radar, Giant Rooks widened the picture with Rookery, then pushed the balance further on How Have You Been? (2024), leaning into immediate choruses without losing nuance. Expect a show that moves fast, stays tight, and leaves space for those quieter moments to hit just as hard.
