Info
On April 30, 2027, Fatoumata Diawara settles in at the Centre Culturel Tisot in La Seyne-sur-Mer, with Massa. On stage, her clear, powerful voice navigates between contemporary Afro-pop, Wassoulou, and Mandingo blues, with that groove that hooks the head as much as the body. She often sings in Bambara and circulates narratives of exile, identity, rediscovered joys, and stubborn wounds, without hesitation.
In her songs, engagement is never a slogan: she speaks of the condition of women, of female genital mutilation (FGM), and of forced marriage, transforming the intimate into lyrics that bring people together. Between tradition and the future, her arrangements flirt with soul and with more electronic textures, leaving room for collective crescendos as well as more bare moments. A concert where people come as much to dance as to listen to what she has to say.
