Bass Drum of Death lands at Le Temps Machine, in Joué-lès-Tours, on October 14, 2026, with its nerve-wracking rock born in Oxford, Mississippi, centered around John Barrett. Initially conceived as a scrappy solo project recorded on the fly, the band quickly evolved into a live machine with a flexible setup, built for short, taut tracks. On the bill: abrasive guitars, dry rhythms, a garage-punk, noise-tinged ethos, somewhere between the urgency of punk and the efficiency of US indie. From its early forays (Stain Stick Skin, High School Roaches) to GB City, followed by the albums Bass Drum of Death and Rip This, the project has forged a direct, no-nonsense identity. After a hiatus, Barrett reignites the momentum with Just Business, before continuing with Too Cold to Hold / Wait and Say I Won’t, in the same vein: a rough, lo-fi sound when needed, and above all designed for live performances.
