Brad Mehldau returns with 'Quatorze Rêveries' (Fourteen Reveries), a project conceived as a snapshot of a mind in motion, straddling exploratory jazz, classical Romanticism, and pop bursts. Through these pieces, he works with the idea of an interior space: what one crafts within oneself, far from external noise, and the way that music can leave room for the possible directions to breathe rather than lock them in. In the continuation of his Suite: April 2020, the pianist plays with silences, harmonic detours, and crossing lines, with that taste for counterpoint and fragmented rhythm that is his signature.
On February 14, 2027, at the Auditorium Robert Poujade in Dijon, this concert will foreground his piano writing, intimate and precise, and this constant dialogue he has maintained for years between jazz standards, learned forms, and popular culture. A recital to enter into his mind, with no roadmap, following the music wherever it decides to go.
