Info
On 19 October 2026, Rita Payés and Lucía Fumero bring their duo to Cadogan Hall in London, built around the simplest, most telling conversation: piano and trombone, plus two voices that lean in and answer back. Their music feels like a friendship caught in real time, with melodies that breathe, space that matters, and a shared sense of listening driving every turn.
Payés draws on a language shaped between jazz, bossa nova, bolero and Latin American song, switching from warm, flexible trombone lines to intimate, close-mic phrasing. Alongside her, Fumero’s piano sets the scene: questions, rhythmic nudges, quiet harmonies that open the door for the songs to stretch and settle.
Expect an unadorned set where roots music and jazz meet naturally, moving between lyrical themes, subtle groove and improvisation, as the two musicians map out their own sonic territory, one piece at a time.
