On November 27, 2026, at the Octagon Centre in Sheffield, Shed Seven bring their guitar-first, chorus-driven indie rock back to the stage. Born in York at the start of the 90s, the band helped shape that era’s British crossover between britpop bite and alternative immediacy, built around Rick Witter’s upfront delivery and a rhythm section that keeps everything direct and physical. Expect a set that moves easily between the classic run of Change Giver, A Maximum High and Let It Ride and the more recent chapter, with the line-up refreshed and still pushing forward on records like A Matter of Time, plus new takes on their catalogue from Liquid Gold. It’s the kind of show that leans on melody, tight songs and live momentum rather than nostalgia.
Opening the night, Ireland’s The Academic arrive with the snap and lift of modern indie pop-rock. Formed in Mullingar, they broke wide with Tales From The Backseat and later expanded the palette on Sitting Pretty, balancing clean hooks with a slightly throwback edge. Onstage they keep things fast and communal, turning those big choruses into a shared singalong before the main set hits.
