On 27 June 2027, Westonbirt, The National Arboretum in Tetbury hosts a bill that leans hard into British pop with two bands built for singalongs.
Madness bring their Camden-born mix of ska, pop and new wave: tight rhythms, punchy brass lines, and songs that paint everyday London scenes with wit and bounce. From the early run of One Step Beyond..., Absolutely, 7 and The Rise & Fall to later chapters like The Liberty of Norton Folgate and Theatre of the Absurd Presents C’est la Vie, they’ve kept that unmistakable ska-pop identity while letting the songwriting open up into more melodic territory.
Scouting For Girls open the night with their piano-led pop rock, all immediate choruses and straight-to-the-point storytelling about relationships and youthful memories. Led by Roy Stride with Greg Churchouse and Peter Ellard, the trio’s sound is built for the live moment, from their 2007 debut through Everybody Wants to Be on TV, The Light Between Us and beyond.
