Info
On February 24, 2027, Kakkmaddafakka will take the stage at SPOT/De Oosterpoort in Groningen for a show centered on their characteristic New Bergen Wave blend: indie pop and rock with disco flashes, light funk and occasional rap influences. Since the band formed in 2004 in Bergen around brothers Axel and Pål Vindenes, their reputation has rested mainly on live energy: tense guitars, tightly dancing rhythms, and choruses you quickly catch on to, with that sense of collective singing that drives their songs forward.
In the set you can expect songs drawn from across their entire catalog, from early EPs to albums such as Hest, Six Months Is a Long Time, Hus, Diplomacy and Revelation. Kakkmaddafakka plays at the cusp of sharp and light, with melodies that hit you immediately but stay rough enough to keep things exciting. A concert that leans more toward ensemble playing and movement than toward perfectly polished poses.
