On March 12, 2027, Medium Build will stop by La Maroquinerie in Paris with his raw songwriting and his very direct way of telling his life, unfiltered. Behind the project, Nick Carpenter (born in Georgia, who spent time in Nashville before settling in Anchorage, Alaska) blurs the boundaries between indie rock, folk and country, in a lo-fi format that always leaves room for the words and for vulnerabilities.
Largely brought to wider attention by the album Country (2024) after a string of records and EPs built over the years, Medium Build arrives chiefly with the more collective energy of King of Having Fun, recorded in a studio surrounded by close friends. On stage, this translates into tight, well-crafted songs, rock’n’roll crescendos, an intense presence and a dry wit that defuses gravity when needed. A concert for those who enjoy when indie meets country without posture, guided by lyrics that hit the mark.
