The Mary Wallopers arrive in Warsaw for a concert on February 7, 2027 at Proxima, to remind how lively Irish tradition can be when played without pretension and with a band’s energy. The Dundalk outfit, built around brothers Charles and Andrew Hendy and Seana McKenny, started as an acoustic trio of pub ballads, and over time grew on stage to include additional musicians.
In their sound, collective vocals, simple, direct playing, and arrangements based on guitars, banjo, and tavern melodies meet. The lyrics blend folk tales with social commentary and dry humor, and the repertoire freely moves between reinterpretations of traditional songs and their own numbers.
