On 13 February 2027, Slave to the Rave at Club OST in Berlin brings together three acts who consciously push techno beyond its boundaries. DJ Assault, a Detroit veteran and ghettotech pioneer, stands for rapid patterns, pounding bass, and those rough vocal cuts that swing between electro, Miami Bass, and classic Detroit techno. His approach is minimal in structure but dense in effect: short loops, direct drive, no detours. DJ Fuckoff provides the Berlin counterpoint with pace and edge: techno, bass, happy hardcore, juke, and breakbeats are not neatly separated but stitched together in abrupt shifts. Recurrent spoken-word or rap inflections give the set a performance-like feel. Chippy Nonstop rounds out the lineup with a queer club-rave focus, pouring together ghetto house, acid, electroclash, booty bass, and pop references into a fast hybrid. An evening that leans more toward friction than toward genre comfort.
