Cage the Elephant land in Cardiff on February 22, 2027 at Depot for a night built around their shape-shifting take on alternative rock. Born in Bowling Green, Kentucky, the band has always mixed garage grit, blues bite, post-punk tension and flashes of psychedelia, with songs that can switch from wired-up urgency to darker, more detailed moods.
From the raw snap of their early releases to the broader, more contrasted writing of Melophobia, Cage the Elephant keep playing with dynamics: tight riffs, sudden breaks, choruses that hit without feeling polished to death. The Dan Auerbach-produced Tell Me I’m Pretty pushed their taste for vintage textures, while Social Cues leaned into something more taut and inward.
With Neon Pill (2024) adding a fresh chapter to that constant evolution, this Cardiff date promises a set that moves fast, turns unexpectedly, and still leaves room for the hooks to do the heavy lifting.
