On 13 February 2027, Basement land at O2 Institute Birmingham with the kind of set that thrives on push-and-pull: clean hooks that suddenly snap into heavier guitars, tempos that shift on a dime, and that emo-meets-grunge edge they’ve been shaping since Songs About the Weather and I Wish I Could Stay Here. Expect a tight run through the band’s most direct material, from the dynamic swings of Colourmeinkindness to the broader alternative-rock scope of Promise Everything and the more structured melodies of Beside Myself, all delivered with a live energy that keeps things raw and immediate.
Fleshwater open the night with their dense, foggy take on heavy melody, sitting somewhere between shoegaze haze, grunge grit and post-hardcore impact. Led by Marisa Shirar’s voice cutting through saturated guitars, they bring the contrasts that define their records, from We’re Not Here to Be Loved to 2000: In Search Of The Endless Sky: soft edges and big choruses, then a blunt hit when you least expect it.
