Megadeth brings the Breakout: Hibernation of the Nations Europe Tour 2027 to Düsseldorf on 25 March 2027, at the Mitsubishi Electric Halle. Dave Mustaine and his band have, since the early eighties, stood for thrash that not only relies on speed but on razor-sharp, intricate riffs and songs that constantly change direction without losing the drive. Content-wise, it stays within the typical Megadeth cosmos: power, war, control, paranoia – direct, cold, precise. Live, this is reflected in a setlist that naturally places classics and newer material side by side and lives precisely on this blend of technique and aggression.
As for the support, Black Label Society and Testament are on the bill. Black Label Society, Zakk Wylde’s project, provides the counterpoint: heavier, riff-driven heavy metal with a hard-rock edge, plenty of groove, and those long, singing guitar solos that swing between bluesy feeling and a wall of steel. Testament hails from the Bay Area and stands for thrash with melodic lead guitars and Chuck Billy’s distinctive voice – sometimes straight-ahead, sometimes technical, but always with punch.
