Gnawa Diffusion
The return of Gnawa Diffusion, led by Amazigh Kateb. The message is powerful, and the atmosphere on stage promises to be intense.
Gnawa Diffusion has not lost any of its verve or the essence of its brilliance. The Franco-Algerian collective formed in 1992 in Grenoble has returned to the studio, but it is always in live performances that it reveals all its strength. The same onstage energy, the same free and libertarian speech, the same biting humor that drives them, because nothing has changed and inequalities are still present. Defiance runs in their veins, especially in those of their leader, Amazigh Kateb, son of the Algerian poet Kateb Yacine. Effervescent ragga, electric chaâbi, possessed raï, furious rock and gnawa trance: their fusion is that of a volcano in eruption. A music of struggle and dance, which champions freedom, love and peace.
