Rachel Chinouriri arrives at The Academy in Dublin on September 5, 2026, with her indie pop that is at once lucid and slightly melancholic, carried by a voice that remains front and center. A Londoner, she moves forward with songwriting that is very direct, often built around the guitar, and with restrained arrangements that let the stories breathe. In her songs, she speaks of identity, family, relationships, and what it’s like to grow up and live in the city, without chasing showiness.
After her first demos circulated online, she laid her foundations with the EP Mama’s Boy (2019), followed by Four° in Winter (2021), where soft indie rock and mid-tempo pacing set a hushed, intimate mood. With the album What a Devastating Turn of Events (2024), she broadens the range toward a more assertive alternative pop, while keeping that narrative writing that hooks. On stage, the balance lies between intimacy and choruses that stay in the mind, in a format designed for the proximity of venues.
