Now Wave presents Insecure Men
Insecure Men is a London-based project formed around 2015 as the songwriting outlet of Saul Adamczewski, then on the sidelines of Fat White Family, before becoming a full band with musician and producer Ben Romans-Hopcraft. The duo develops an oblique pop where art pop, chamber pop, lounge, exotica and psychedelic rock intersect, with flexible arrangements, carefully written melodies and a marked taste for shifts in tone.
The self-titled debut album, Insecure Men, was released in 2018. It contrasts with the more abrasive aesthetic associated with Adamczewski’s previous work and establishes a more introspective universe, made of sinuous songs, muted orchestrations and dark humour. The project belongs to a London scene that draws on both classic pop references and more experimental forms, while maintaining a distinct identity that is melodic and unstable. Insecure Men is also linked to a circle of musicians from British independent rock, but the group advances above all through composition and writing that mixes fragility, irony and social observation.
