Barrington Levy arrives on November 5, 2026 at the Danforth Music Hall in Toronto, with that instantly recognizable voice that has bridged roots reggae and dancehall. Discovered very young in Jamaica, he followed in the late 1970s with classics tailored for sound systems, blending rub-a-dub rhythms, early digital impulses, and catchy refrains that stay with you. From “Bounty Hunter” to “Englishman” or “Robin Hood,” his melodic style and vocal variations have spanned decades, becoming reinterpreted and sampled far beyond reggae. On stage, it’s a live-oriented repertoire, combining hits with raw energy. Alongside him, Lil’ Cease brings the Brooklyn DNA and the shadow of East Coast rap from the 1990s. A key member of Junior M.A.F.I.A. alongside The Notorious B.I.G., he delivers a direct flow, tight verses, and that dark, no-nonsense New York aesthetic, moving between group classics and a solo trajectory. A meeting that lets dancehall and hip-hop converse, continuing the dialogue between Jamaica and New York.
