Info
They’ve had the keys to Vitrolles Stadium for a few years now, and they make us dream with lineups that blow you away; Basses Fréquences returns to the club Unité.22, and in very good company.
Fresh from an open-air show with Anetha at the Dancing in Sète, the collective known for its sense of rhythm and hand-crafted techno parties takes back the club’s reins by inviting the Australian Kia.
Hailing from Melbourne, a major port city located at the southern tip of the country, she built her reputation from an intense cultural and musical milieu. At the forefront of creativity in electronic music, she has the gift of birthing immersive and vibrant sonic universes, which she engraves in the grooves of her projects that now span several continents.
An artist renowned for her hypnotic and psychedelic sets, she lifted Mixmag’s Mix of the Year trophy in 2024 for her Dekmantel festival podcast. The resident DJ of Climate of Fear in Berlin and Nowadays Club in New York will deliver an extended three-hour set.
The residents of Basses Fréquences Soundsystem, 42L and Romanesco, will also be on hand to close with a b2b set, maintaining the club’s temperature with the elegance they’re known for.
A top-tier techno soundsystem for lovers of fresh music and unconstrained gesticulation.
Kia
Kia’s sensibility has been shaped by a tapestry of memories, from formative experiences as a young festival-goer at events such as Labyrinth in Japan and Waking Life in Portugal, to Inner Varnika, a trendsetter of Australian tastes. Her rise has been rapid, propelling her onto the scene, notably at festivals such as Freerotation, Sustain-Release and Draaimolen, and clubs such as Bassiani, De School and Nowadays, where she is a resident. This ascent earned her recognition from Resident Advisor, which named her Dekmantel Podcast 2024 Mix of the Year and featured her in its series Breaking Through. Always on the lookout for opportunities, Kia founded her label, her mix series and her network of Animalia parties, as well as Cirrus, initially conceived as a springboard for some of Melbourne’s emerging talents. On the road, Kia enjoys discovering different communities, spaces and sounds, which she reintegrates into her local scene. Promoting Melbourne’s excellence has long been at the heart of her work, a mission both rooted in reality and international, oscillating between meaningful returns to roots and fresh explorations.
42L
Co-founder and programmer of the Basses Fréquences festival at Vitrolles Stadium, 42L embodies a fusion of electronic genres. Behind the decks, he moves fluidly between bass music, deep techno, progressive house and breakbeat, delivering deep, hypnotic, and light-filled sets. Strongly influenced by diverse scenes, his universe blends mental intensity with solar warmth.
Romanesco
After years spent organizing parties and co-founding Basses Fréquences alongside 42L, Romanesco takes his place behind the decks and lays down grooves as smoothly as he laid cable. His selections traverse deep, trancey techno aesthetics with an acidic, oily edge and hints of psy. A dense and solid set, designed for a closing slot.
