Since his first album in 2004, Médine has given a voice to those whom history has often left on the margins. In "Enfants du destin" ("Children of Destiny"), he weaves a sequence of narratives carried by figures such as David, Souhan, Kunta Kinte, Nour, and Yasser: lives upended by colonization, war, slavery, or oppression. Whether drawn from real life or imagined, these characters sketch a shared memory, between the wounds of the past and the questions of today.
On March 27, 2027, at L’Auditorium in Grenoble, Médine revisits these stories in a tighter staging, accompanied by Guillaume Zolnierowsky on piano and guitar, and by Shéhérazade Gherbi-Colet on voice and cello. On stage, Karinale Lo van Zaouiche occupies the kitchen space, conceived as a refuge and a place of transmission. Between the pieces, her remarks offer another angle on the texts, without breaking the thread, and deepen the human resonance of these destinies.
