Since their debut in 2012, Detroit’s Protomartyr have become one of post-punk’s distinctive voices, combining jagged guitars, driving rhythms and Joe Casey’s spoken-sung delivery.
Rooted in the grit of their hometown yet resonating beyond it, the quartet craft songs that balance sharp social observation with poetic ambiguity. Across a series of albums, they’ve refined a sound that is both raw and atmospheric, blending intensity with intelligence.
