Bonobo, aka Simon Green, returns behind the decks for a DJ set in London at Rough Trade East on September 12, 2026. A British producer who has mastered the art of marrying melodic electronics with supple grooves, he has navigated since the late 1990s through downtempo, trip hop, nu-jazz, and more organic textures, with a keen eye for detail that keeps a track anchored by a discreet kick, a warm, muffled bass, and a few chords that catch the ear. This event also marks the release of his new album Distance In Static, released on Ninja Tune. Expect a set constructed like a narrative: one foot in his most atmospheric obsessions, the other in a more club-oriented energy, with a taste for clean transitions and gradual builds.
