Launched in London in the early 2000s following the Sneaker Pimps hiatus, IAMX is Chris Corner's solo playground, straddling dark synthpop, electronic rock and noir cabaret, with industrial edges and more exploratory forays. His music moves forward through contrasts: tense pulsations, catchy choruses, then suddenly more fragile ballads and nocturnal moods that stretch out.
Across the records, from Kiss + Swallow to the two installments of Fault Lines, Corner keeps a grip on writing, production, and visual identity, while allowing himself a few carefully chosen collaborations. On stage, IAMX takes on its full scope: a project conceived as a solo carried by a live band, where light and imagery directly extend the sonic textures.
