On February 23, 2027, Ezra Collective lands at the Transbordeur in Villeurbanne with the collective energy that has made them one of the faces of the renewal of British jazz. Born in London's youth clubs, the quintet (Femi Koleoso, TJ Koleoso, Joe Armon-Jones, James Mollison, and Ife Ogunjobi) continues to blur the boundaries between contemporary jazz, Afrobeat, hip-hop, soul, and Caribbean legacies, with a groove that moves as much as it unites. At the heart of the concert is Here Because Of Hope, their most personal project, conceived as a three-movement narrative. A journey that links African melodies, Caribbean rhythms, and the streets of London, tracing the circulation of Black music across continents and decades. Featuring collaborations (Pa Salieu, Lila Iké, Leona Lewis), the album questions the paradox of a joy that often arises from hardship, and answers plainly: hope, transmitted and reinvented generation after generation.
