Raw sound, a crackling groove and mounting tension: Triggerfinger returns to the stage with the appetite to go all out. After twenty-five years on the road, the Belgian trio restarts the game with a new album recorded in Los Angeles with producer Mitchell Froom, aimed at preserving the group’s garage-blues DNA while pushing the envelope further.
At the center, Ruben Block’s deep voice leads the charge, backed by Mario Goossens’s crisp, forceful drumming. On bass, Geoffrey Burton (who has worked in the worlds of Arno, Grace Jones, Iggy Pop, Misia) adds new depth and dynamics, without diluting the urgency. On stage, Triggerfinger plays on the balance between dry riffs, electric buildups and bluesier, more relaxed moments, with that live instinct that leaves little room to breathe.
