Now Wave presents Kiss Facility, the duo formed by Mayah Alkhateri (born and raised in the United Arab Emirates, with partly Egyptian roots) and Salvador Navarrete, also known as Sega Bodega. Their playing ground is a blend of shoegaze, indie rock and alternative pop with hazy textures, between diffuse guitars, restrained melancholy and hooks that linger in the mind without feeling forced.
Beyond the sound, Kiss Facility develops a writing approach in which identity, freedom and representation recur as guiding threads. References to Mayah Alkhateri's Arab cultural heritage are not there to be decorative: they structure the project and its language, in a form that is both concise and introspective, nourished by internet aesthetics and experimental pop while maintaining genuine accessibility.
