On 23 April 2027, Nouvelle Vague arrives at the John Lennon Cultural Centre in Limoges with its new chapter: A Date with Depeche Mode. Faithful to the idea that has defined its signature since the early 2000s, the collective led by Marc Collin dives back into a cult repertoire to tilt it in a new direction, between Brazilian bossa nova, acoustic pop, and a touch of French chanson, all in a format with variable geometry where female voices lead the dance.
At the heart of this project, eleven international vocalists reinterpret Depeche Mode's classics. The first preview single: Enjoy the Silence, entrusted to Skye Edwards (Morcheeba). Here, there is no grand electronic backdrop: the track is stripped down, warmed by Brazilian musicians recorded in Rio de Janeiro, and gains a more organic feel. A simple and direct way to highlight the songwriting, not aiming for an exact copy, but changing the light.
