On July 21, 2026, Yard Act will drop by Rough Trade Nottingham (Nottingham) for a live show that accompanies the release of their new album You’re Gonna Need A Little Music, on Island. From Leeds, the quartet have, in a few years, established their own distinctive way of injecting storytelling and irony into post-punk: a voice that speaks as much as it sings, basslines that grab you, dry guitars, and a knack for detail that turns an ordinary stage into a mini social chronicle. After The Overload, which had established their biting tone and direct writing, Yard Act continue to deepen this blend of rhythmic tension, humor and daily observation. On stage, everything hinges on directness and energy: songs that move quickly, lyrics that bite where they count, and a no-frills band dynamic. A perfect occasion to hear this new chapter take shape in a live performance.
