Friko lands in London on August 17, 2026 at the MOTH Club with its nervous and melodic art rock, somewhere between power pop and indie rock. Led by Niko Kapetan and Bailey Minzenberger, the project comes from Chicago's indie scene and plays on contrasts: piano-driven songs that open wide, guitars that bite, drums always in motion, and this way of moving from a very pop fragility to more abrasive crescendos without losing the thread.
On stage, Friko stretches the songs, lets the calmer passages breathe, then speeds up to brush against noise or post-rock, all while keeping a true sense of the chorus. Their first album, Where We've Been, Where We Go from Here (2024), gives an idea of this dynamic, with broader arrangements and a tension that doesn't subside. A date to see this duo where it's most alive: in the intensity of the live performance.
