General Levy, born Paul Scott Levy, arrives at Exeter Phoenix on 14 November 2026 with that British MC style that bridged ragga, dancehall and the history of jungle. Born in West London and nurtured from an early age by reggae and Caribbean culture, he forges his rapid delivery and his talent for toasting in contact with sound systems and London stages, where energy is played out as much on the mic as at the heart of the riddim.
Discovered in the underground in the early 1990s, he followed up with releases that establish his upfront flow on reggae and ragga productions, before marking a turning point when his voice hooked onto jungle on the classic “Incredible” with M-Beat. Since then, Levy has alternated formats and playing fields, from the drum-and-bass dancefloor to wide-ranging collaborations, working with producers and artists such as Sly & Robbie, Sting International, Shaggy, Steelie & Cleevie, or Artful Dodger. A show crafted for live performance, the microphone and rhythmic tension.
