Based in Toronto, Canada, The Commoners have been developing since the mid-2010s a rock imbued with southern rock, blues rock and classic rock. The band relies on melodic electric guitars, a solid rhythm section, and vocal work marked by soulful harmonies, building songs where mid-tempo ballads alternate with more direct tracks. After a self-produced, self-titled debut album released in 2016, The Commoners refine their formula on "Find A Better Way" in 2022, where riffs inspired by 70s rock meet North American roots-rock touches and contemporary arrangements. Active on the Ontario live scene and then on circuits of venues and festivals beyond Canada, The Commoners rely on an organic sound, centered on band interplay, with a significant emphasis on vocal harmonies and guitar solos. This approach allows the Toronto-based band to sit within a continuity of classic rock while maintaining a distinctive identity in today's blues-rock scene.
