beabadoobee lands in Toronto with “The Powerlines Tour”, on October 8, 2026 at Scotiabank Arena. Born in the Philippines and based in London, Beatrice Laus initially lent her voice to lo‑fi, intimate formats before turning up the amps: 90s guitars, slacker rock, touches of shoegaze, and a highly pop melodic sensibility. Discovered with “Coffee”, she followed with EPs and albums that chart this shift toward a more direct indie rock, from Fake It Flowers to Beatopia, then This Is How Tomorrow Moves. On stage, her songs retain this blend of fragility and electricity, with choruses that stick and textures that swell in live performance.
As the opening act, WISP (Natalie R. Lu) brings a new-generation shoegaze from San Francisco: thick guitar swells, hazy melodies, ethereal vocals but never too meek. Discovered in 2023 with “Your Face”, then cemented by the EP Pandora and the album If Not Winter, she leans into sonic density while keeping short, legible structures, somewhere between nu gaze and alternative rock.
