On December 14, 2026, at MTELUS in Montreal, Imminence arrives with its melodic metalcore tailor-made for the live stage. Since 2009, the Swedish group has played on contrasts: massive guitars, bright choruses, darker, more atmospheric sections, and above all that violin that defines their identity, played by Eddie Berg, who also handles vocals. From I to This Is Goodbye, then the more direct turn of Turn the Light On and Heaven in Hiding, Imminence has refined a writing in which post-hardcore emotion brushes against a nearly cinematic tension. With The Black and its recent follow-ups, the formula gains density, between rhythmic aggression and more expansive arrangements.
Dying Wish, formed in Portland around Emma Boster, delivers a metalcore energy nourished by the early-2000s wave: nerve-wracking riffs, heavy breaks, melodies that latch on and a scream that leads the charge, sometimes interspersed with clearer breaths. Fragments of a Bitter Memory, followed by Symptoms of Survival, establish a direct, intimate, and no-nonsense framework, designed for live impact.
Gaerea completes the lineup with its modern, suffocating black metal. Masked, the Portuguese sculpt a dense and emotional material, where raw urgency blends with more atmospheric passages, in the vein of Limbo and Mirage. On stage, their intensity and sense of storytelling link darkness and melody.
