Kingfishr

On 5 December 2026 Kingfishr will play SPOT/De Oosterpoort in Groningen. The Irish trio, formed during their student years in Limerick, brings together singer-guitarist Eddie Keogh with McGoo and Fitz. Their sound moves between folk and indie, with acoustic guitars to the fore, spare percussion and layered vocal harmonies. The songs sketch landscapes and family ties and reflect on the journey toward adulthood, often through arrangements that gently swell into open choruses.

Since the early 2020s Kingfishr has been steadily building a repertoire that grew online and took shape through singles. With tracks like “Flowers-Fire” and “Anyway” their blueprint became clear: melodic folk with indie inflections, played directly and without unnecessary frills. Live they keep the lines tight and the story close to the heart of the song, with harmonies that carry the melody and dynamics that grow organically.

In Groningen that approach comes together in a set that links new material with the songs that have introduced them across Ireland and the UK.
