Elder

Elder brings their evolving heavy psych to Pumpehuset in Copenhagen on February 12, 2027. Formed in Massachusetts in 2006 around guitarist-singer Nick DiSalvo, the band first leaned into stoner doom with dense riffs and stretched-out structures, then steered toward a more melodic, progressive strain where long forms, layered guitars and keys set the pace. From an early split with Queen Elephantine and a self-titled debut, they moved through Dead Roots Stirring, then Lore, a shift toward broader, more nuanced writing, followed by Reflections of a Floating World. Omens and Innate Passage tightened the dialogue between guitars and synths, while The Gold & Silver Sessions and the Kadavar collaboration Eldovar showed a taste for side trips.

Now based in Berlin, Elder plays as a quartet with DiSalvo, bassist Jack Donovan, multi-instrumentalist Mike Risberg and drummer Georg Edert. On stage they stretch songs without losing momentum, working dynamics, tempo changes and heavy grooves into patient builds. This date at Pumpehuset looks set to pull from across their catalog, from early weight to recent expanses, carried by interlocking riffs and a steady, hypnotic pulse.
