On Saturday, October 10, 2026 at The Pearl in Vancouver, BC, Militarie Gun lead a night that threads punk urgency with rough‑edged indie rock and clear, direct melodies. Formed in Los Angeles in 2020 around vocalist and songwriter Ian Shelton, the band sharpened its voice through the EPs My Life Is Over and the twin All Roads Lead to the Gun releases, before the album Life Under the Gun. Short forms, serrated guitars, unadorned vocals: their writing pulls from hardcore while leaning into hooks and tension.
Softcult, the Ontario duo of twin sisters Mercedes and Phoenix Arn‑Horn, shifts the mood toward a gauzier blend of shoegaze, grunge and dream pop. Saturated guitars and reverb‑drenched layers frame melodies that carry heavier themes, from social pressure to intimate doubt. Across Year of the Rat, Year of the Snake and See You in the Dark, they’ve refined a DIY approach that moves live between ethereal passages and weightier breaks.
From Sydney, Shady Nasty operates at the junction of punk, hip‑hop and noise. Heavy drums, abrasive guitars and talk‑sung or shouted lines set a tense, physical atmosphere that resists neat genre boxes, playing on sharp contrasts and dense textures.
Special guest Dazy rounds out the lineup. Linked to Militarie Gun through their 2022 collaborative EP Pressure Cooker, Dazy tips the evening further toward melodic grit and fuzz‑lined riffs, connecting the setlist’s harder edges with a more tuneful streak.
