Boy Harsher

On October 14, 2026, Boy Harsher bring their shadowy electronic pulse to The Pearl in Vancouver. Formed by Jae Matthews and Augustus Muller after meeting in film school, the US duo folds darkwave, coldwave and electropop into lean drum programming, tense synth lines and a voice that moves between spoken and sung minimal phrasing. Early releases set the tone—Lesser Man (2014) and debut album Yr Body Is Nothing (2016)—followed by Country Girl (2017) and Careful (2019), plus Country Girl Uncut and a set of Careful remixes the same year. In 2018 they launched Nude Club, their own label to frame and reissue parts of their catalog. Their link with cinema runs through The Runner (Original Soundtrack) in 2022, created alongside the namesake short film.

Live, Matthews fronts with stark, close-mic delivery while Muller sculpts the low end and sequences, sliding from a brooding pulse toward harder EBM edges. The set draws across their discography with updated arrangements and denser textures. Over recent years the pair have moved through post-punk and electronic circuits, playing festivals like Primavera Sound, Roadburn, Cruel World and Coachella.
