Gaël Faye

Gaël Faye returns to the stage and will set down his suitcases at the Halle Tony Garnier in Lyon on 27 November 2027. A rapper and writer, he shapes a precise, narrative language nourished by a bicultural background and by the experience of exile. Brought to wide public attention with his novel Petit Pays, winner of the Prix Goncourt des lycéens, and with Lundi méchant, a platinum-selling record, he has established himself at the crossroads of rap, song and poetry. His latest novel, Jacaranda, awarded the 2024 Prix Renaudot, extends this taste for storytelling that also runs through his music.

On stage, Gaël Faye blends a measured flow and spoken word, song refrains and urban rhythms, supported by a band in which acoustic instruments converse with hip-hop aesthetics. His meticulously crafted lyrics open into confidences, addressing heritage and the intimate without losing the collective momentum of the live performance. In Lyon he will traverse his repertoire, between standout tracks and new impulses, for a concert where the writing comes to life and the personal intersects with shared experience.
