Syd Matters

Syd Matters, a project led by singer-songwriter Jonathan Morali, returns to the stage at Le 106 in Rouen on April 15, 2027. Since 2003, the group has established itself with an intimate brand of folk carried by a warm voice, understated harmonies and light-and-shadow arrangements. Four albums and several emblematic tracks — from "Black & White Eyes" to "Obstacles", "To All Of You" and "I Might Float" — have shaped a songwriting that moves with soft footsteps, attentive to detail and to breathing spaces.

On stage, Syd Matters has often combined breadth and fragility, shaping textures as much as silences. After a period devoted to music for screen — theatre, film, animation and video games, notably the soundtrack to Life Is Strange — Jonathan Morali here reconnects with the repertoire. Slender guitars, hazy soundscapes, restrained pulses and melodies that settle in effortlessly: the set revisits key songs while making room for less-expected pieces, to rediscover that universe at once gentle, melancholic and precise, collectively forged on stage.
