Info

Michigan-born, Santa Fe–based singer-songwriter Esther Rose plays the Broom Factory in Kingston on September 16, 2026. An artist shaped by the New Orleans country-folk scene, she writes with a direct, intimate touch, where americana, country and folk meet in clear melodies and lean arrangements. On stage, her high, quicksilver voice — often compared to a pitched-up June Carter — anchors songs that move easily from bare-bones ballads to a lightly electric sway.

Her catalogue sketches that arc: This Time Last Night (2017), You Made It This Far (2020) and How Many Times (2021) laid the groundwork; Safe to Run (2023) pulled things tighter and more stripped; Want (2025), recorded live-to-tape in Nashville with producer Ross Farbe for New West Records, brings in Dean Johnson and players from Video Age, The Deslondes and Silver Synthetic. She has also teamed up with Jack White, duetting on Boarding House Reach and joining him at Jazz Fest, a reminder of the subtle rock edges that surface in her songs.

For Kingston, expect a set that threads early material with recent cuts, drawing a line through her evolving sound while keeping the spotlight on the storytelling.
