Info

Deaf Havana land at the O2 Institute Birmingham on 28 October 2026 for a night named after their 2011 album Fools & Worthless Liars. Formed in Norfolk in 2005, the band long blended post-hardcore tension with raw choruses before steering their songwriting toward a more melodic alternative rock. Now refocused around brothers James and Matthew Veck‑Gilodi, Deaf Havana presents a repertoire that spans this transition, from Fools & Worthless Liars and Old Souls to All These Countless Nights, Rituals, and then The Present Is a Foreign Land and We’re Never Getting Out. Clean guitars, straightforward song structures and introspective lyrics form the core of a set designed for the stage, balancing rock energy with direct melodies.

Opening the evening, The Dangerous Summer, hailing from Maryland, cultivate a balance of alternative rock, emo and pop‑punk. First noticed with Reach for the Sun, then War Paint and Golden Record, they reignited their momentum with a self‑titled album in 2018, followed by Mother Nature and Gravity in 2024. Anchored by AJ Perdomo’s voice and unadorned melodic guitars, the band delivers songs tailored for live performance, where emotional tension and crisp choruses play off each other without pretense.
