MEUTE

On May 11, 2027, at the Zénith de Lille, MEUTE brings its techno brass band from Hamburg for a live show where brass and percussion take the place of machines. Formed in 2015 around trumpeter Thomas Burhorn, the collective brings together eleven musicians who reinterpret house and techno acoustically while preserving the repetitive pulse and the progressive build characteristic of club music. First noticed for their take on "Rej" by Âme, they have since built a repertoire that mixes rearrangements of electronic classics with original compositions.

On stage, MEUTE lines up bass drums, snares, sousaphones, trumpets and saxophones to shape physical bass lines, catchy riffs and rhythmic patterns that keep the energy flowing relentlessly. The set moves between nods to Laurent Garnier, Disclosure, Dennis Ferrer and Deadmau5 and tracks from their albums Puls, Taumel and Empor, where the group asserts its songwriting. With no turntables or laptops, the dynamic remains that of a dancefloor, driven by brass accents, drum breaks and a keen sense of tension. A brass-band format, a club aesthetic, and a sound crafted for a large venue: MEUTE performs the intersection of genres with a collective precision that gives their show its distinctive flavor.
