Gurriers

Gurriers bring their tense, modern post-punk to New Century, Manchester on 16 October 2026. Formed in Dublin in the early 2020s, the Irish five-piece honed a sound that threads art-punk angles and noise rock grit through a rhythm section that keeps the pressure steady. Guitars scrape and surge, drums and bass lock into tight patterns, and the vocal line moves between blunt address, urgency and a cooler distance.

Live, the band favours concise songs built for impact, stripping away retro poses in favour of a direct, unvarnished drive. Their writing leans into the present moment: everyday violence, social strain, the feeling of being pushed aside, and the contradictions of a shaky political climate. After a run of stark singles, their debut album Come and See (2024) widened the frame without easing the tension, and the newer cuts push further into sharp corners and precise rhythms. On stage, Gurriers turn that approach into a focused set of short, wired bursts, all edges and momentum, with little space left to catch your breath.
