Born in Sweden in 1995, Arch Enemy built its sound around Michael Amott’s twin-guitar writing: rapid riffs, harmonized leads and a tight rhythmic drive. With Alissa White-Gluz on vocals and Jeff Loomis on guitar, the band leans into clear, memorable hooks without losing its death metal core, from War Eternal to Deceivers.
Formed in Michigan in 2001, The Black Dahlia Murder pushes fast, cutting melodies shaped by the Swedish school and American intensity. After 2022, Brian Eschbach stepped to vocals and Ryan Knight returned on guitar; Servitude (2024) extends the group’s agile structures and relentless tempo shifts.
Septicflesh brings a symphonic angle where heavy guitars, guttural vocals and orchestrations imagined by Christos Antoniou deepen the atmosphere, a thread running from Communion to Modern Primitive.
Crypta, founded in São Paulo around Fernanda Lira and Luana Dametto, delivers dark, direct death metal driven by agile drums and serrated riffs. Los Angeles outfit Thrown Into Exile rounds out the lineup with a heavy, groove-leaning sound rooted in thrash and modern melody.
