Info
Death From Above 1979 land at London Music Hall on November 27, 2026. Formed in Toronto in 2001, the duo of Jesse F. Keeler (bass) and Sebastien Grainger (drums, vocals) built a lean noise-rock and dance‑punk language around overdriven bass lines, front-and-center drums and tense, melodic hooks. After the early EP Heads Up, they broke through with You’re a Woman, I’m a Machine, a record that welded punk economy to grooves built for movement. The Physical World and Outrage! Is Now widened the palette toward hard rock edges and abrasive pop, while Is 4 Lovers pushed more melodic structures without losing the minimalist framework.
On stage, the setup stays stripped to the core: bass, drums, voice, distortion and a lot of rhythm. Riffs lock to metronomic kick patterns, feedback cuts in and out, and vocals ride the pulse rather than float above it. The set typically pulls from across their catalog, shifting between serrated uptempo tracks and heavier mid‑tempo churners, always driven by the interplay between low-end saturation and percussive attack. It’s a direct, physical take on rock that keeps the focus on momentum and the chemistry of a two‑piece working at close range.
